Healthy Village Seniors
Since 2003 IMCS has supported the physical and mental well-being of Iu Mien community members in Sacramento and surrounding areas. We provide a safe, welcoming space to share stories, connect with peers, and support one another through difficult times. Our programs help reduce depression, stress, and isolation.
This program supports Iu Mien community members ages 40 to 80+ by addressing mental and physical health, as well as social and educational needs. Participants share stories, discuss current events, learn about community resources, and hear from guest speakers on topics such as chronic disease management, nutrition, food safety, and mental health.
Each Wednesday session includes light exercise. The group also hosts an annual Senior Lunar New Year celebration, a summer picnic, and other holiday events.

Funeral Assistance
Established in 2022, this program provides in-kind assistance—such as water, rice, napkins, and essential toiletries—to Iu Mien families to help ease the financial burden associated with traditional funeral practices. Rooted in cultural respect and community support, the program aims to ensure families can honor their loved ones with dignity during a difficult time. Eligibility requires that the deceased be of Iu Mien descent and have resided in the Greater Sacramento Region. Assistance requests must be submitted through an online application, and all approved items are to be picked up at the IMCS office.

Prevention & Early Intervention, and Suicide Prevention
IMCS supports the physical and mental well-being of Iu Mien community members in Sacramento and surrounding areas. We offer a safe and friendly environment for our community members to share their stories, engage with their peers, and support each other through difficult times. Our 3 main programs allow the participants to find an avenue to help combat their depression, stress, and isolation. Our services and programs are funded by Supporting Community Connections, Division of Behavioral Health Services through the voter approved Proposition 63, Mental Health Services Act (MHSA).
