The board president of Iu Mien Community Services (IMCS) provides leadership and guidance to ensure the organization fulfills its mission to support and strengthen the Iu Mien community. As the head of the board of directors, the president presides over board meetings, helps set strategic direction, and works closely with board members, staff, and community partners to advance the organization’s goals.
In this role, the president helps foster collaboration, appoints board committees, and signs official documents on behalf of IMCS. The president also serves as a key spokesperson and ambassador, representing IMCS in the community and promoting its programs, partnerships, and impact.
Through their leadership, the board president helps ensure that IMCS continues to preserve Iu Mien culture, celebrate its heritage, and meet the evolving needs of the community.

In addition to providing leadership and oversight, the vice president works closely with board members, staff, and community partners to promote collaboration and strengthen IMCS’s impact. The vice president may also sign official documents, represent the organization at events, and help lead strategic initiatives that benefit the Iu Mien community.
By working alongside the president and the board of directors, the vice president helps ensure that IMCS remains a strong, responsive, and culturally rooted organization serving the Iu Mien people.

Board Secretary Description
The board secretary of IMCS plays an essential role in maintaining the integrity and transparency of the organization’s governance. As the primary record keeper, the secretary is responsible for documenting board meetings, preserving official records, and ensuring that the board’s activities comply with organizational bylaws and legal requirements.
The secretary prepares and distributes meeting agendas and minutes, maintains accurate records of board actions, and facilitates communication among board members. This role supports accountability and ensures that decisions and policies are clearly documented and accessible.

Board Treasurer Description
The board treasurer of IMCS oversees the organization’s financial health, helping to ensure responsible stewardship of resources in support of its mission. As the board’s chief financial officer, the treasurer works closely with board members and staff to manage budgets, monitor expenditures, and safeguard the organization’s assets.
The treasurer prepares and presents financial reports, assists in developing the annual budget, and helps ensure compliance with financial policies and legal requirements. The treasurer also co-signs checks and financial agreements, providing oversight and accountability for the organization’s financial transactions.
Through diligent management and transparency, the board treasurer helps IMCS maintain its financial stability, allowing the organization to continue delivering valuable programs and services to the Iu Mien community.

Board Members Description
Board members of IMCS are committed volunteers who provide leadership, guidance, and oversight to ensure the organization fulfills its mission to support and uplift the Iu Mien community. They work collaboratively to set policies, approve budgets, and guide strategic decisions that preserve Iu Mien culture and address community needs.
Board members attend regular board meetings, participate in at least one committee or task force, and contribute their skills and expertise to help IMCS grow and thrive. Each board member is also expected to support the organization through participating in fundraising activities and attending IMCS-sponsored events.
In addition to governance responsibilities, board members serve as ambassadors for IMCS—promoting its programs, building community partnerships, and sharing its impact with the broader public.
